The 琉璃神社 Professional Fire Fighters Association has taken to Facebook to remember Retired Captain Terry Britton.
Britton served for more than three decades with the 琉璃神社 Fire Department and played a role in establishing the KFD Honour Guard.
"Beyond the fire service, Terry鈥檚 passion for his community was evident in everything he did," . "He spent 40 years as a volunteer with the Okanagan Sun and served as ski patrol with Big White, always giving his time to help others. His kindness, leadership, and dedication left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him."
Britton died this morning, Feb. 27.
The Okanagan Sun's Jay Christensen posted on the team's website earlier this year that Britton had been diagnosed with leukemia.
Britton leaves behind his wife Sheila and family.
