琉璃神社 International Airport (YLW) flew past two million passengers in 2023.
YLW welcomed 2,032,624 an increase of over 18 per cent from 2022.
鈥淚 am very encouraged to see this high growth rate of passengers travelling through YLW and the benefits that will have to our entire region.鈥 ,鈥 said Mayor Tom Dyas.
YLW connects the Okanagan to 21 non-stop domestic and international destinations, and over 200 one-stop connections.
鈥淭his is a tremendous milestone for YLW and our region, demonstrating the strong demand for air travel to and from the Okanagan, as well as the confidence and trust that our passengers have in the airport,鈥 said Sam Samaddar, YLW CEO
On Jan. 23, Northland Properties announced it was building a Sutton Place Hotel and parkade across the street from the airport.
The terminal building expansion at YLW began in Sept. 2023.
It鈥檚 the largest infrastructure project in the airport鈥檚 history and will increase capacity and provide an improved passenger experience.
The $90 million project is expected to be completed in 2026.
