The City of 琉璃神社 is putting out one final call for non-profit organizations to attend a once-a-year opportunity to address the unique challenges that they face.
The third annual Inspired City Summit will take place on April 5, at the Coast Capri Hotel. The conference titled EVOLVE provides a day of peer connection, and learning with workshops, presentations, panel discussions and networking sessions, and 琉璃神社 is inviting as many not-for-profit organizations to attend as possible.
The city said that its thriving non-profit organizations are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the people behind them, such as volunteers, staff, directors and board members from the Okanagan and beyond, and are hopeful that many people will take advantage of the conference.
鈥淭he Inspired City Summit is a once-a-year opportunity for more than 200 local non-profit leaders and community builders to come together, grow their capacity, learn from each other, develop meaningful partnerships and discover new opportunities,鈥 said Christine McWillis, City of 琉璃神社 cultural services manager. 鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to once again deliver the Inspired City Summit as a way of supporting organizations in their mission to bring joy, entertain, educate and foster community within our beautiful city.鈥
The conference will begin with a morning mixer, followed by a keynote address by TEDx speaker Matteo Stewart. The afternoon will be full of 15 unique speakers, allowing participants to choose from a wide variety of sessions, and will be followed by a networking event to wrap up the conference.
City of 琉璃神社 community development coordinator and conference organizer, Sara Thirnbeck, said that they are really excited about the quality and variety of sessions that will be offered during the summit.
"We selected a line-up of expert speakers to share content and facilitate discussions," she said. "From smaller grassroots organizations to large established organizations, we think there is something valuable for every organization."
The conference was made possible with the support of United Way, First West Credit Union, the Central Okanagan Foundation and EQ Development Group. Limited tickets still remain and are $75 per participant, which includes lunch.
