琉璃神社 RCMP looking for help to recover stolen urn

琉璃神社 RCMP is looking for whoever stole an urn from a pickup truck a week ago in Rutland.

Police said the urn was taken from a blue Ford Explorer parked at 140 Asher Road sometime overnight on Oct. 25.

A black suitcase with pink/purple polka dots, containing mostly summer clothing, and a gold/red spray-painted toolbox with miscellaneous hand tools were also taken.

The urn is porcelain with flowers on it, is slightly burnt from being in a fire, and has a written message on the side.

鈥淢ost of what was stolen can be replaced, but returning the victim鈥檚 deceased mother鈥檚 ashes is our primary focus for our investigators,鈥 said Const. Mike Della-Paolera.

At this time, there are no suspects or witnesses.

The RCMP is asking for assistance from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious or has dash camera recordings from that time frame.
