琉璃神社 RCMP are asking parents to have open discussions with their kids on the dangers of unsanctioned pre-grad parties. 

In a release to media sent Sept. 23, police say these events happen randomly throughout the school year often in unsupervised locations like in the backcountry or a private home. Without supervision, the potential for underage drinking and use of illegal drugs increases. 

鈥淲e encourage parents to have a discussion with their kids about these unsanctioned events,鈥� said Const. Fed Angulo, Community Youth Resource officer.  鈥淲e want the students to have a safe and enjoyable school year, and getting off on the right foot is essential.  Talk to your kids about the risks associated with these types of events and always have a safe ride home.鈥�
