琉璃神社鈥檚 Mehak Parihar is one of seven youths to be named a BGC Canada Youth of the Year recipient.
Parihar is recognized for exceptional leadership, dedication to service, and remarkable achievements within her community.
鈥淚 extend a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible staff at BGC Okanagan for teaching me the importance of helping others and the impact you can have as just one individual,鈥 said Parihar, a first-year engineering student at UBC Okanagan. 鈥淢y journey with them has shaped me into who I am today.鈥
The Regional Youth of the Year honour not only shines a spotlight on young leaders, it also rewards them with prize packages, laptops, and post-secondary scholarships. Winners also receive leadership and mentorship training preparing them to become official BGC ambassadors.
The home clubs of each Youth of the Year beneficiary are granted funds to further support their youth engagement and leadership work.
Parihar plans to launch a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) program at the Rutland Club.
