ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Salvation Army prepares for holiday season, looking for volunteers

The charity helped 678 families last holiday season, expects more demand in 2023

‘Tis the season to hear the familiar jingle of bells as volunteers with the Salvation Army collect donations for those in need this holiday season.

On Nov. 17, the Salvation Army celebrated the start of the annual Kettle Bell campaign with bells and song in downtown ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç.

The celebration is intended to inspire people to get involved as volunteers with the Salvation Army’s holiday initiatives, or to donate to one of the annual holiday programs.

The Salvation Army is always looking for volunteers, particularly during the holiday season. To get involved as a Kettle Bell Ringer and to learn about the other opportunities available visit or call 250.860.2329 ext. 113.

This year, the Salvation Army in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç expects to see an influx in demand for , including the Christmas Blessing Program and the Christmas Catalogue.

The Blessing Program provides families with a food gift card and the opportunity to select a toy for each child in the family.

In 2022, the charity assisted 678 local families through the Blessing Program and anticipates an increase in requests for this season.

The Salvation Army is still accepting but encourages people to sign up quickly due to high demand.

In support of the Salvation Army, the Coast Capri Hotel is hosting the from Nov. 29, until Dec. 7, to stock the Salvation Army’s toy depot for the season.

People who donate a new toy on Nov. 29, between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., will be treated to a complimentary hot breakfast buffet.
