A B.C. pharmacy based in 琉璃神社 and Victoria has received national recognition.
Vital Health Pharmacy won the 2024 Pharmacy Practice + Business Interprofessional Initiative Award for its "innovative business and practice model that integrates pharmacists, physicians and other healthcare professionals to maximize the safety and effectiveness of care for patients using rare and complex specialty medications."
Over the last 12 years, the company has been critical in reducing wait times for residents requiring IV infusions.
One of the competition's judges called Vital Health Pharmacy co-owner Don Swainson "a champion" of better pharmaceutical access to Canadians.
