琉璃神社 wants feedback on Commonwealth, Jim Bailey road improvements

The study explores what Commonwealth Road could look and feel like, including important safety considerations, active transportation and transit opportunities, noise evaluation and mitigation strategies, lighting, landscaping and more.

Area residents are being asked for their thoughts on the preliminary design for improvements to Commonwealth Road and its connection to Jim Bailey Rd.

The City of 琉璃神社 is working with the Okanagan Indian Band on the project.

鈥淭he connection between Commonwealth Road and Jim Bailey Road is a key component of the Northern Boundary Collaboration Memorandum of Understanding between Okanagan Indian Band, District of Lake Country and the City of 琉璃神社,鈥 said Chad Williams, senior transportation engineer. 

The connection will create a second access for the area and provide an alternative route that will help reduce current congestion on Beaver Lake Road and improve emergency access to the area, Williams added.

Residents are invited to learn more about the project and provide before Feb. 23 or at a public information session:
