Update: April 1
Jon Crofts, owner of Codfathers Seafood Market, said despite the electrical issue with the compressor there was no damage to the business and he was able to reopen by 5 p.m. Monday.
鈥淚t鈥檚 business as usual today,鈥 said Crofts.
A seafood market in 琉璃神社 is without power after a compressor for the shop's refrigeration unit malfunctioned and started billowing smoke on March 31.
The Codfather Seafood Market, on Gordon Drive in 琉璃神社, was evacuated at approximately 3:30 p.m. after the shop began to fill with smoke due to an electrical issue.
Firecrews confirmed to Capital News that the smoke is due to an electrical issue with the shop's refrigeration compressor. Fire suppression was not required as there were no flames from the electrical issue, only smoke.
The building's electricity has been shut off and Fortis B.C. has been called to the site.
