Residents were forced out of their Rutland home Thursday after concerns a pot on fire on the stove might spread to the rest of the home.
Fire crews arrived on Gibbs Road West just before 2 p.m. to discover smoke coming from a house.
Gibbs Road West was blocked while crews are on scene.
The fire was knocked down about 10 minutes after crews arrived. The home had to be ventilated with a fan due to the smoke.
BC Ambulance did not attend the scene as no injuries were reported.
