Pot fire on stove quickly doused in Rutland

Fire crews were able to get a handle on the blaze fairly quickly

Residents were forced out of their Rutland home Thursday after concerns a pot on fire on the stove might spread to the rest of the home.

Fire crews arrived on Gibbs Road West just before 2 p.m. to discover smoke coming from a house.

Gibbs Road West was blocked while crews are on scene.

The fire was knocked down about 10 minutes after crews arrived. The home had to be ventilated with a fan due to the smoke.

BC Ambulance did not attend the scene as no injuries were reported.
