Phase 2 construction upgrades to Knox Mountain鈥檚 first lookout start on Sept. 5.
The cost for the project is $390,000.
Phase 2 improvements include:
- Climate resilient landscaping
- Temporary irrigation
- Cultural interpretive features
Construction should be completed in the fall.
The lookout will be closed during Phase 2 construction, and hikers on the Apex trail will be subject to minor detours. Alternate routes will be marked, and parking will be reduced at the lookout.
Phase 1 was completed in May, creating a gathering space, a small plaza, a stage, custom benches, natural area fencing, and other improvements.
