The Liberal Party has acclaimed its candidate for Okanagan Lake West-South ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç for the federal election.

A posting to the party’s website, dated March 11, named Juliette Sicotte as the chosen candidate. An email from her campaign team states Sicotte has Métis/Cree heritage, and was "raised with the values of determination, resilience, and community in Snow Lake, Manitoba, where she grew up in a family of eight."

She has called ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç home for the past 30 years, and her career has connected her with entrepreneurs and small business owners in various sectors including mining, fine arts, and technology.

"These experiences have given her a deep understanding of Canada as a young and evolving nation," the statement reads. "It is her commitment to defending Canada’s progress — the ‘Made in Canada’ progress — that has led her to seek your vote as a Liberal candidate."

The statement said Sicotte "believes in boosting economic activity from coast to coast to coast, supporting sustainable infrastructure for agriculture and housing that takes climate change into account, and making life more affordable for Canadians."

According to the networking site LinkedIn, Sicotte is the director of sales and marketing for ACR Systems, a data solutions company based in Surrey. She is also on the board of directors for The Bridge Youth and Family Services in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç.

Dan Albas (Conservative) is the riding’s MP, which is currently named Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola. The riding was redrawn and renamed under the 2022 Canadian federal electoral redistribution process.

The Okanagan Lake West-South ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç riding will come into effect once the federal election is called.
