UPDATE: Power restored for over 2,300 Rutland residents

Power has been out since 6:54 a.m.

UPDATE 8:32 a.m.

Power is fully restored for all 2,343 FortisBC customers.

A portion of Rutland residents will have to go out to grab coffee and breakfast on Saturday morning (Feb. 22).

According to FortisBC, 2,343 customers have been without power since 6:54 a.m. 

The cause of the outage is unknown at this time but a repair is underway and power is estimated to be back by 9 a.m.

Parts of Rutland Road North, McCurdy Road, Hollywood Road, Reid's Corner, Old Vernon Road and more are all affected.
