UPDATE: 5:45p.m.
Burtch Road remains closed southbound after a pedestrian was struck by a truck, Thursday afternoon.
BC Highway Patrol is on scene investigating. Multiple traffic cones are laid out across the road and the truck that was reportedly involved in the incident is also still at the scene.
UPDATE 1:28 p.m.
The person who was struck has been transported to hospital, RCMP have confirmed.
Update 12:55 p.m.
Burtch Road is closed in both directions between Harvey and Sutherland avenues after a pedestrian was hit by a truck.
Firefighters and paramedics have left the scene.
Cops remain at the intersection while investigating the crash.
Original 12:35 p.m.
Multiple emergency crews are on the scene of Harvey Avenue and Burtch Road after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle just after noon.
BC Ambulance is on the scene assessing the pedestrian, their injuries are unknown. It appears the pedestrian was walking along the cross walk in the intersection at the time of the collision.
Harvey Avenue is reduced to one lane northbound and the southbound lanes of Burtch at the intersection are blocked as emergency crews are on scene.
The driver of the vehicle has remained on scene and is speaking with police.
