Penticton and 琉璃神社 are two of the most popular places to move to, at least according to U-Haul.
The latest annual report puts the two cities in the top 7 based on the flow of vehicles belonging to the do-it-yourself moving company.
Penticton shot fifteen spots up the rankings to take the number six spot, while 琉璃神社 moved up a single spot to take number four compared to the rankings from 2022.
鈥淎s prices in the Lower Mainland continue to rise, people are looking for more affordable places to live,鈥 said Mason Kolahdouzan, U-Haul Company of British Columbia president in a press release.
U-Haul said its Growth Index is compiled according to the net gain of one-way U-Haul trucks arriving in a city or state, versus departing from that city or state, in a calendar year. Migration trends data is compiled from more than two million one-way U-Haul truck transactions that occur annually across the U.S. and Canada.
The top growing city was Calgary, according to the 2023 report, followed by Sherbrooke in Quebec and Edmonton in third place.
Salmon Arm, which had been at the 19th spot in 2022, dropped to 24 in 2023.
