Shoppers Drug Mart in West 琉璃神社 is temporary closed due to an incident.
A witness told Black Press Media that an alleged robbery took place around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 16. It was also believed pepper spray was used.
However, according to the RCMP, the incident wasn鈥檛 a robbery and wasn鈥檛 as significant as originally thought.
鈥淭here was an incident, but not a robbery,鈥 琉璃神社 RCMP media relations officer Sgt. Judith Bertrand told Capital News. 鈥淪omebody reported as a pepper spray incident, but it wasn鈥檛. Nobody was victimized like that.鈥
鈥淚t鈥檚 very routine, it鈥檚 not a significant event,鈥 added Bertrand. 鈥淭he report came in as significant and when [officers] got there, it turned out it was not that. Officers attended and confirmed that nobody was pepper sprayed.鈥
One store employee was reportly sent home following the incident.
It鈥檚 unknown at this time exactly what the incident was.
