ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Rockets
The ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Rockets head to Portland on Friday (Nov. 29) to face the Winterhawks, fresh off their win of the 2026 Memorial Cup hosting bid.

On Wednesday (Nov. 27), the Rockets were awarded the national championship of the CHL, beating out Medicine Hat, Brandon, Spokane, and Lethbridge.

"This is a thrilling night for our organization and for the city," Rockets President and General Manager Bruce Hamilton said on Wednesday. "I can't be more proud of the group that we put together to make this bid come true and I'm thankful for the opportunity for us to have this event one more time here."

ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç also secured a 4-2 victory over Portland that same day. Andrew Cristall extended his point streak to 13 games with the opening goal and was named WHL Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 24.

The Rockets have five wins and five losses in their last 10 games. They sit ninth in the Western Conference with a record of 10-9-2-1, earning 23 points so far. Friday’s game begins at 1 p.m.

West ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Warriors
Newly acquired defenseman Axel Lofgren will make his debut for the West ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Warriors on Friday against the Trail Smoke Eaters at Royal LePage Place.

Lofgren was traded from the Powell River Kings in exchange for defenseman Landen Hilditch and forward Eliot Compton. Logren is currently fifth in BCHL defenseman scoring, collecting eight goals and eight assists in 20 games with Powell River this season.

The Warriors have struggled recently, winning just three of their last 10 games, including two overtime losses. Friday’s matchup opens a four-game home stand that runs through Dec. 7. The Warriors are seventh in the BCHL Interior East with 21 points and a record of 8-10-4-1. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.

ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Chiefs
The ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Chiefs take on the Coyotes in Osoyoos on Friday, looking to build on their big win over the Princeton Posse last Saturday (Nov. 23).

The Chiefs doubled the KIJHL-leading Posse 6-3 but remain at the bottom of the Bill Ohlhausen Division. They have 18 points and a record of 8-8-0-2. ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç has won four of its last 10 games.

On Saturday, the Chiefs will host the Columbia Valley Rockies at Rutland Arena. The game starts at 7 p.m.

UBCO Heat
The UBCO Heat men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams play their final games of the season before the holiday break this weekend.

The basketball teams host the UBC Thunderbirds on Friday, with the women playing at 5 p.m. and the men at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the UFV Cascades visit UBCO, with the women’s game at 4 p.m. and the men’s game at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the door.

Friday night features the Heat’s first annual Neon Night, in partnership with Glow with the Flow. Glow-in-the-dark yoga and a DJ will entertain fans during halftime of both basketball games.

On Saturday, UBCO will hold its Fall Sports Recognition Night. The event will honour the men’s golf, rugby, and softball teams, the women’s golf and cross-country teams, and UBCO’s 22 all-stars and award winners.

The volleyball teams head east for a weekend doubleheader against the University of Calgary Dinos. Games can be streamed on .tv.
