琉璃神社 RCMP responded to a sticky situation unfolding in Rutland on June 2, after a security alarm at a business was set off.

When police arrived at the business, located in the 500 block of Highway 33 West at approximately 4 a.m., a person was seen behind the counter 鈥渕aking themself ice cream treats, 鈥 said Sgt. Judith Bertrand.

According to police, the suspect had scooped up a chocolate sundae.

鈥淭he suspect was taken into custody without incident,鈥 said Bertrand.

The suspect allegedly broke the front door of the business in order to gain entry to the ice cream. The name of the business has not yet been made public.

The accused allegedly initially attempted to steal items from a locked fridge before making themself ice cream treats, said Bertrand.

The suspect will attend court in the coming few weeks for charges related to the break and enter, resulting in damage.
