UPDATE: Person trapped under vehicle at ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç’s Spall Plaza

Multiple emergency crews are on scene

UPDATE: 3:30 p.m.

RCMP say the man who was struck by a vehicle in the Spall Plaza parking lot was riding on a skateboard when the incident occurred.

The man was hit by a vehicle turning into the plaza. According to police the man only sustained some road rash. No tickets were issued to either the driver or the skateboarder.

UPDATE: 11:52 a.m.

Firefighters were able to extricate the man from under the vehicle. He was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The driver stayed on scene and spoke with police.

This was the second incident Monday morning where a pedestrian was struck in a parking lot. A woman was struck in the Value Village parking lot in Rutland by a vehicle which reportedly fled the scene. She was also taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

A person is stuck underneath a vehicle in the Spall Plaza parking lot.

Emergency crews were called to the scene after reports of that a person was struck by a vehicle at 1950 Harvey Avenue just before 11:30 a.m.

A section of the plaza parking lot in front of the Starbucks is blocked off while firefighters work to extract the individual out from under the vehicle.

It’s unclear what happened to cause the pedestrian to be struck and then stuck under the vehicle. The extent of the person’s injuries is not yet known.
