The Vernon campus of Okanagan College will host an all-candidates forum Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m. in the Lecture Theatre. Candidates for both Vernon-Lumby and ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç-Lake Country-Coldstream have been invited to participate.

Party candidates for both the Vernon-Lumby and ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç-Lake Country-Coldstream ridings for the upcoming 2024 provincial election are scheduled to speak at a Community All Candidates Forum at Okanagan College Vernon Campus.

The forum is slated for Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Lecture Theatre D310. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the forum will start promptly at 6 p.m.

This forum, organized by the Vernon Students’ Association at Okanagan College, will offer a great opportunity for those in attendance to meet the candidates and listen to their viewpoints and platforms.

“Even though the forum is directed towards a youth and young adult focus, all members of the community are both invited and encouraged to attend," said Eric Reist, general manager of the Vernon Students’ Association – Okanagan College.

Reist, along with the members of the student association, is hoping that this event can provoke discussion on topics that many community members may want answers for. Several prompting questions from the Vernon Students’ Association will be posed throughout the forum.

The candidates will be allotted two minutes per answer for each question asked.

Admission to the evening is completely free for all those who wish to attend, however, attendees are encouraged to bring a donation for the Student Food Bank if able.

For more information of this upcoming event, please contact Reist at
