Candace Banks, director of volunteers with Pride said that celebrating love, diversity and inclusion, especially within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community is incredibly important.
“Here in specifically, over the last couple of years we have seen a lot of hate gain momentum,” said Banks, including online harassment they and other members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community have been subject to and witnessed.
Banks said that it is important that the 2SLGBTQIA+ community is visible to let people know that “no matter what they do, we are always going to be here.”
“Here in we are standing together against that hate,” said Banks.
