琉璃神社 Memorial Park Cemetery鈥檚 (KMPC) Right of Interment reclamation project ends soon.
Permit holders or their immediate family members have until Oct. 7 to notify KMPC via email of their intent to use, transfer, or surrender their permit.
The KMPC has been reclaiming unused permits sold more than 50 years ago since May 2024.
鈥淭his project is all about responsible land management and ensuring that there is space available for those who want to be buried in our local cemetery,鈥 said Tracey Hillis, cemetery manager.
Reclamation only applies to unused permits sold in or before 1973.
If you are (or think you or an immediate family member might be) a permit holder, you can email cemeterypermits@kelowna.ca.
Staff will review the status of permits and update them with correct information and intentions to use, transfer or surrender them.
If the original plot holder has died, an immediate family member may be eligible to use the permit.
