琉璃神社 Chiefs help hockey family following medical emergency

All proceeds from Friday night's ticket sales and 50/50 raffle at the Chiefs game will go to the Stewart family

The 琉璃神社 Chiefs are raising money during their preseason game on Friday night (Sept. 6) to raise money for the Stewart family.

Throughout their first preseason game of the year on Friday night (Sept. 6), the 琉璃神社 Chiefs will be holding a fundraiser to help a member of the local hockey community.

The fundraiser is for Garrett Stewart, who suffered a major stroke and brain bleed on July 23. He still hasn't woken up from the medical emergency and requires live-saving surgery. 

Stewart's wife, Kendra, is the longtime tournament coordinator for 琉璃神社 Minor Hockey.

There is also a , where more than $23,000 has been raised so far to help the family with immediate needs, Stewart's rehabilitation, and living expenses. 

All proceeds from tonight's ticket sales and 50/50 raffle at the Chiefs' game will go to the Stewart family. 

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at Rutland Arena against the Osoyoos Coyotes.
