Going into the provincial finals as the last seed, the Okanagan College Coyotes women’s basketball team is finals-bound.
In Friday’s semi-final against the #2 seed Capilano University Blues, the Coyotes beat them 75-69 to advance to the final on Saturday.
The win also guaranteed the team a spot in the nationals in two weeks.
Okanagan College has three starters finish the game in double-figures, combining for 45 of the teams’ 75 points:
- Soleil Wilding - 14 points;
- Ali Martineau - 16 points;
- Elizabeth Henne - 15 points.
Martineau also had 10 rebounds to complete a double-double.
The Coyotes will take on the winner of the other semi-final between the #1 seed Vancouver Island University and #4 seed Douglas College in the championship game at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Christian School.
