Okanagan Sun shutout Chilliwack, remain perfect on the season

The Okanagan Sun improved to 3-0, beating the Chilliwack Valley Huskers 26-0 on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The Okanagan Sun improved to 3-0 on the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) season, beating the Chilliwack Valley Huskers 26-0 on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Sun quarterback Liam Kroeger led the show, going 15/24, throwing for 187 yards and a touchdown. He also collected a rushing touchdown.

Wide receiver Sam Melanson made two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.

The team's two-headed monster at running back continue to dominate as well as Elelyon Noa and ran for 141 yards and Tristen Peddle ran for 78 yards and a touchdown.

And for the second-straight week, Sun linebacker Jacob Bond is the British Columbia Football Conference's (BCFC) defensive player of the week. In Saturday's contest, he collected 10 tackles and recovered a fumble.

The Sun are at the top of the BCFC with their 3-0 record, ahead of the 2-0 Westshore Rebels, who they will play in Langford on Saturday, Aug. 10. Kick off is at 4 p.m. at Starlight Stadium.
