On Happy Gilmore night, the West 琉璃神社 Warriors were Shooter McGavin as they fell 4-1 to the Brooks Bandits on Friday, Nov. 1.
Brooks came into the game the best team in the BCHL and they continued to show that on Friday night. Within the first six and a half minutes, the Warriors were down 3-0 as the Bandits got goals from Nick Peluso, Jack Rosensteel, and Nathan Free.
It remained 3-0 until close to the halfway point of the second period. Jace Letourneau scored his first goal of the season for Brooks to make it 4-0.
The Warriors didn't get on the board until there was nine seconds left in the game when Jack Farrell scored his second goal of the campaign.
West 琉璃神社 goaltender Dawson Labre suffered the loss and was pulled after allowing four goals on 15 shots.
With the loss, the Warriors fall to 4-7-2-1 while Brooks keeps rolling, now at 13-1-0-0.
Despite the loss, West 琉璃神社 wore specialty jerseys inspired by the movie Happy Gilmore.
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday night when they welcome the Vernon Vipers (4-8-3-0) to Royal LePage Place.
