Arrest leads to drugs, stolen travel trailer

RCMP arrested a man on outstanding warrants and in possession of numerous types of drugs.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said the RCMP targeted enforcement unit arrested Johnathan Russell, 40, on May 26 at 11:30 a.m. on outstanding warrants and upon his arrest they found him to be in possession of numerous quantities of heroin, marijuana and cocaine. A woman, 40, who is a resident of Penticton was also arrested at the time.

RCMP then applied for a search warrant of their residence, a travel trailer on Kruger Hill Road.

鈥淎 rifle was found, as well it was determined the 2017 travel trailer had been stolen from 琉璃神社 in April,鈥 said Wrigglesworth.

Russell was charged with one count possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession for the purpose trafficking, one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, one count unsafe storage of a firearm, one count of a restricted firearm without a licence and being in possession of a firearm while not permitted. The woman that was with him was also charged with two firearms offences.

Both are facing charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.
