Assault, motor vehicle charges face 琉璃神社 man

Suspect assaults woman, flees in truck hitting signs and a light pole before being found up Knox Mtn. passed out behind the wheel.

A man in 琉璃神社 police custody faces potential charges after being arrested on Knox Mountain following a string of alleged crimes Sunday afternoon.

On April 10, at 4:43 p.,. the 琉璃神社 RCMP were called to an alleged assault committed in a residence in the 4600 block of Gordon Drive. The victim managed to contact 911 emergency operators for assistance. The victim reported that the suspect had fled in a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The suspect vehicle was then the subject of various erratic and dangerous driving complaints around the city where the driver reportedly struck traffic signs and a light pole at separate intersections. Shortly after 5 p.m. the RCMP received information that their suspect vehicle was at the top of Knox Mountain, stopped against the barrier of the lookout.

Officers approached the vehicle and found their suspect passed out behind the wheel. He was taken into police custody without further incident.

The victim, a 32-year-old 琉璃神社 woman, received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect, a 46-year-old 琉璃神社 man, faces potential charges of assault, uttering threats, unlawful confinement, flight from police, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, hit and run with property damage and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.  He was expected to appear in court Monday, April 11.
