RCMP are reminding the public to remain vigilant and are seeking any possible witnesses after receiving a report of an attack early yesterday morning.
, the 琉璃神社 RCMP received a report of an assault that reportedly took place in the early morning hours of April 26 on the Mission Greenway near the south end of Hollywood Road South.
Police were called on Wednesday, April 27, at 11:25 a.m. They report being told that, at approximately 7:30 in the morning, a young woman was jogging along the greenway when she was grabbed by an unknown suspect from behind.
The young woman said that she was able to fight off her attacker, escape from the suspect and run three km back to her vehicle.
The victim, an 18-year-old 琉璃神社 woman, was not injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as:
- Caucasian male
- 25 years
- 6 ft 0 in (183 cm)
- Short medium brown hair worn flat
- Neatly trimmed beard
- Muscular build.
He was seen wearing:
- blue jeans
- black jacket
- large silver watch with Roman Numerals.
鈥淩CMP would like to remind residents walking, jogging and biking alone to plan your route, vary your routine and avoid isolated areas,鈥 Const. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey said in a press release.
He also recommended victims report incidents to the police as soon as it is safe to do so.
The 琉璃神社 RCMP continue to investigate and are seeking the public鈥檚 assistance with any further information.
