Coming off a strong performance in the televised leaders鈥 debate Wednesday, B.C. Green Party leader Andrew Weaver is coming to 琉璃神社.

Weaver will address a Green Party rally Sunday at 2 p.m at the Best Western Hotel.

Fittingly, the hotel where he will appear is often cited for its environmental efforts to aid its operations, including an extensive use of solar power.

The city has even bestowed awards on the hotel for its corporate environmental leadership.

On Wednesday, in debating Liberal leader Christy Clark and NDP leader John Horgan on television, Weaver delivered a strong performance, matching his more seasoned political opponents on most of the issues and slamming both the Liberals and the NDP for taking large political donations from big business and labour unions.

He said his party does not accept such donations.

He dismissed Horgan鈥檚 repeated remarks that the NDP has tried six times to introduce new rules barring corporate and union donations to political parties but the Liberals would not agree as hypocritical, as long as the NDP does the same.

鈥淏eing better than really bad is still bad,鈥 said Weaver comparing the Liberals and the NDP on the issue of political donations.
