Traffic backed up along Highway 97 at the entrance to Highway 97C, Friday afternoon, after two back-to-back collisions took place.
According to witnesses a vehicle rear-ended another vehicle about 12 p.m., and just half an hour later a incident involving a motorcycle took place in the same location.
The highway was shut down for at least an hour; however there was a detour onto Highway 97C via the Trepanier exit.
The two crashes caused traffic to back up in the southbound lanes from Gorman鈥檚 Mill to Peachland after the road reopened.
