A Saanich PD officer died Wednesday, March 5 after suffering a medical emergency while on duty.
"It's with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of one of our officers," Saanich PD Chief Dean Duthie said in a news release. "Our leadership, critical incident support management and peer support teams are fully engaged and supporting the officer's family and all our staff during this very difficult and emotional time."
A processions first responders from other communities drove past Saanich PD headquarters on Thursday, March 6 to show support to the department and the officer's family.
