Evacuation alerts have been issued for 17 properties near the out of control Jack Creek wildfire.
The blaze is situated near the same area as the Mount Law wildfire which ignited on Aug. 15, 2021. The Mount Law wildfire above Glenrosa was considered under control on Sept. 5, 21 days after it ignited. The blaze grew to an estimated size of more than 970 hectares, where approximately 460 properties were placed on evacuation orders. While the Jack Creek wildfire is in the vicinity of the Mt. Law blaze, it is burning away from the scorched area of the blaze last year.
Central Okanagan Emergency Operations has asked that impacted residents along Maxwell Road prepare to be asked leave their homes, at a moment’s notice. Residents should be prepared to be away from their home for an extended period of time by making arrangements for pets and packing essential items, including as medicines and important documents.
The blaze is an estimated 4.5 hectares in size and is suspected to be lightning caused.

The Jack Creek wildfire, near Peachland is currently two hectares in size.
Ten crew members will be battling the blaze from the ground while helicopters and air tankers douse the blaze from above.
The fire is considered a visible surface fire with occasional candling. It is exhibiting a moderate rate of spread at a rank two or three.
The cause of the flames is currently under investigation.
The Service is responding to the Jack Creek wildfire (K52317) located approximately 20 kilometres west of . The fire is currently estimated at two hectares in size and classified as Out of Control.

A wildfire sparked in the hills above Peachland, Wednesday afternoon.
Smoke could been seen from across Okanagan Lake in the South East ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç area about 5 p.m.
BC Wildfire is responding to the blaze with helicopters, air tankers and a ground crew.
According to those in the Peachland area a helicopter is already on scene.
It’s unclear how the fire started or how big it is.
