鈥淚 wanted to thank them for keeping everybody safe,鈥 said Chantana. 鈥淲e lost some houses, it was very sad for them. (The firefighters) work very hard. I just wanted to say thanks.鈥
The meal was cooked at Chantana鈥檚 but she said other businesses also donated food to help prepare a large meal. Lake Country has some 60 paid, on-call firefighters and five paid staff members.
Chantana and Don opened the the restaurant about seven years ago in Lake Country and Chantana says it鈥檚 a great community to operate in, adding it was no problem cooking such a large meal and reiterating it was about the firefighters.
The dinner was picked up by the fire department and delivered the fire hall before the firefighters held their regular practice Monday.
