Southbound lanes on the Coquihalla highway were reopened after being shut down for more than six hours Friday, following a multi-vehicle accident near the Box Canyon chain up area Friday afternoon.
There are no reports yet on injuries, but damage was substantial to a number of vehicles.
Early reports indicate that the accident was sparked by a semi trailer truck that had lost its brakes.
Although the highway is now open, DriveBC is warming motorists to still expect delays and watch for traffic control personnel.
