Day cares under construction at Penticton and Summerland schools

Facilities will be operational at four schools

One day care facility has been constructed and others are being built at schools in Penticton and Summerland.

Todd Manuel, superintendent of the Okanagan Skaha School District, said a facility at Uplands Elementary School is now fully completed, while at Wiltse Elementary School the work on a day care is almost finished.

Another facility is under construction adjacent to Princess Margaret Secondary School and near what will be Skaha Lake Elementary School.

In Summerland, construction has started on a facility at the school that is to become Summerland Elementary School.

Once the Penticton facilities become operational, they will be run by OneSky Community Resources and the YMCA. The Summerland facility will be operated by BGC Okanagan.
