A BC Conservation officer is looking into the discovery of a dead bear in BX Ranch Dog Park.
Community members reported finding the bear in the treed portion of the park Saturday, Oct. 26.
"In the 'forest' maybe 40 feet in across the creek," Jane Shamess-Lyon reported on social media. "Momma will be close by."
While some indicated the bear was a cub, the Conservation Office said it was possibly just a small bear and an officer is looking into the situation. The office could not comment further.
It's unknown how the bear died but there are public speculations that it was shot.
