A deer is getting the blame for a highway rollover in Peachland.
On Dec. 6 at 4:29 p.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a single-vehicle roll over on Highway 97 South near Hawkes Street.
鈥淧olice have learned that the driver of the blue Buick Century swerved to avoid colliding with a deer when he suddenly lost control, left the roadway and rolled into the ditch,鈥� said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.
While the Century landed on its roof, O'Donaghey said the driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was relatively uninjured.
The vehicle sustained significant damage.
