The rain didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the supporters this morning for the annual Maxine DeHart-United Way Ramada Hotel Drive-Thru Breakfast.
Beginning at 6 a.m. until 9 a.m., people poured through the Ramada Lodge Hotel parking lot at Dilworth and Enterprise in their vehicles to make a donation to the United Way in return for a breakfast bag of goodies provided by the many sponsors for the annual event.
The total donations for this year are still being added up, but as of 8 a.m. the drive-thru breakfast had raised more than $41,000.
