Central Okanagan Search and Rescue responded to a deceased dirt biker on Friday near 琉璃神社.

A dirt biker was found deceased on Friday in the hills above Bear Creek.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue along with RCMP and the BC Ambulance Service responded to the scene, about seven kilometres into a wooded-area above Bear Creek.

Two ATV teams along with a new UTV team were among the 10 members of COSAR that responded to the request to help locate and remove the body from the area.

The deceased rider was discovered by two other dirt bikers in the area. According to COSAR, the pair alerted the authorities once it was determined the rider was deceased.

COSAR and the RCMP removed the body and the incident is now being investigated by the RCMP and the BC Coroner Service.

Search and rescue also responded to another incident, responding to a medical rescue on Pincushion mountain above Peachland, responding to the scene with Peachland Fire and Rescue.
