A 36-year-old Edmonton man was recently pulled over twice by Sicamous RCMP, with illegal drugs seized in both incidents.

The first incident occurred on Sunday, March 10. Sgt. Murray McNeil said the man was arrested after a patrolling officer witnessed an oncoming vehicle, driven by a male, attempt to evade police. When the vehicle was located, its female passenger was in the driver鈥檚 seat. McNeil said both of the vehicle鈥檚 occupants were arrested for obstruction of an officer. The vehicle was searched and various drugs were found including 17 grams of powder cocaine, three grams of heroin and four grams of fentanyl, all of which were seized by police. McNeil said the pair were also in possession of multiple cell phones and drug paraphernalia.

The woman, 38, of Sicamous and the man were later released without charges.

On March 29, a Sicamous RCMP officer pulled over a B.C. registered vehicle driving without a front licence plate. The driver turned out to be the same 36-year-old man from the March 10 traffic stop.

鈥淭he officer again noted drug paraphernalia in plain few and he arrested the driver for possession of a controlled substance,鈥 said McNeil. Police seized 14 grams of cocaine and three grams of methamphetamine from the driver. The man was released without charges.
