In the midst of wildfires, Salmon Arm RCMP have to bear with local criminals.
At 1 p.m. on July 22, police responded to a call of destructive bears on a property on 46th Street NE.
"A woman reported a mother bear and her two cubs tearing apart her backyard, and trying to get at her chickens," Const. Andrew Hodges said in a media release.
Officers advised conservation and attended the scene but the bears had already made their getaway and "escaped a possible arrest for mischief."
No chicken injuries were reported.
