The Salmon Arm Walmart was evacuated Sunday afternoon after a fire ignited inside.
According to two store employees, the fire began around 4:30 p.m. (Aug. 4). It had allegedly been started by individuals who'd been using the changing rooms in the clothing area.
"The flames were shooting to the roof," said one of the employees.
The fire was said to have set off the store's sprinkler system in the zone where it had occurred.
It was noted one person was hurt after falling during the evacuation, but everyone else got out of the store without injury.
The Observer will provide more information as it becomes available.
