UPDATE 6 p.m: A wildfire has prompted numerous evacuation alerts in Spallumcheen.
An evacuation alert has been issued for the following areas:
Twin Firs Mobile Home Park
Eagle Rock Mobile Home Park
Belva鈥檚 Mobile Home Park
Meadow Ridge Mobile Home Park
McLennan Road
Keddleston Road
With this notiofication, affected residents should be prepared to leave on very short notice.
Spallumcheen has activated an emergency operations centre at the municipal office and there is only resident traffic only allowed on Hutley and Head roads.
The fire in the Hutley Road area is currently four hectares in size. Fire crews continue to battle the fire from the air and the ground

UPDATE: Ground and air crews continue to battle a wildfire in Spallumcheen.
As of 4:37 p.m., the fire on the east side of Patterson Creek was reported to be 2.5 hectares in size.
鈥淎t this time, no structures are threatened by this fire,鈥 said Max Birkner, with the B.C. Wildfire Service.
Air and ground crews are on scene.
鈥淔ire origin and cause investigators are also on route,鈥 said Birkner.

A wildfire in Spallumcheen is being tackled aggressively Thursday afternoon.
The blaze, which is being described as spot-size, is burning on the hillside, east of Hutley Road and Highway 97A, near the Tolko mill.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a developing situation. We鈥檙e still getting information on it,鈥 said Tracy Wynnyk, an information officer with the B.C. Wildfire Service.
The Armstrong-Spallumcheen Fire Department is on scene while there are reports of other local departments providing assistance.
The B.C. Wildfire Service is attacking the fire from the air.
Wynnyk isn鈥檛 sure if any structures are close to the fire.
