Armstrong, Enderby, Lake Country among departments getting equipment upgrades thanks to funds
From thermal imaging cameras to training and equipment upgrades, support is coming to keep communities safer through provincial funds.
Through the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund (CEPF), the provincial government is providing more than $9 million for more than 130 projects throughout B.C., supporting over 230 fire departments that are fully or partially staffed by volunteers. This funding helps fire departments conduct and expand training, buy or replace equipment, and expand their capacity.

Armstrong is receiving structural firefighting turnout gear and a turnout gear dryer in the amount of $40,000.
The North Okanagan Regional District is receiving $120,000 for equipment and training grant.
The Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department is replacing and upgrading personal protective equipment with $28,562 in funds.
Self-contained breathing apparatus is being purchased in Enderby thanks to $39,880.
Lake Country is buying $40,000 worth of new and replacement thermal imaging cameras.
