The BC Green Party is kicking off their campaign with a St. Patrick鈥檚 Day launch on Friday, March 17.
Green Candidate for 琉璃神社-Lake Country, Dr. Alison Shaw, will proudly be wearing green and speaking about Green Party policies and platform at the Naked Cafe, located on Lawrence Avenue, from 4 to 7 p.m.
鈥淭he support we are seeing for the BC Greens in this election is elevated and exciting,鈥� said Shaw.
鈥淥ur message is getting out that we are passionate about ordinary things that affect peoples lives, like housing, jobs and services for our aging population. We are no longer just the party for the environment. Very strong green candidates from across the province are standing up to protect what we value in BC. In this election, promoting responsible government, boosting meaningful employment and ensuring affordable housing exists for all are some of the key issues that people of 琉璃神社-Lake Country will be voting for. We invite and encourage residents to come to the Friday evening launch. We want to demonstrate why and how the BC Greens are the genuine alternative in this election.鈥�
Alison Shaw is a local business owner with a PhD in sustainability and passion for our community.
According to the BC Greens policy document, the party is driven by five main themes: health, safety, standard of living, ecological balance, and responsible government.
鈥淲e want as many people to hear what we have to offer in this election,鈥� said Shaw. 鈥淩ather than identifying with right or left, we emphasize smart, evidence-based policy that makes sense for BC communities and for the future of the province. As far as we can tell, there are no other parties with the same goal.鈥�
