Help is close to home: Fundraiser for Lake Country woman with inoperable breast cancer

A fundraiser has been started for a well-known Home Hardware employee in Lake Country who has inoperable breast cancer.

鈥淢any of the Lake Country community know Sherri Evans as the bright, smiling face when you walk through the doors of Lake Country Home Hardware,鈥 reads a post on the GoFundMe page started by Jennifer Samms and Lynette Taylor.

Sheri has been a member of the Home Hardware family for two years and a member of the Lake Country community for seven years.

It is one of the most aggressive forms of breast cancer and has spread to her bones and marrow, and there is no cure.

The post states Sherri is responding favourably to systemic treatment and will likely continue with chemotherapy, and other treatments, that may help her live another one to five years.

鈥淭he Home Hardware crew wants Sherri to enjoy each day going forward, however, she wants to. She has kids and grandkids in Alberta that she would love to see and a bucket list that she can not do without our help.鈥
