As expected, 琉璃神社-Lake Country MLA Norm Letnick will seek a third term.
Letnick, who is also B.C.'s agriculture minister, was acclaimed as his party's candidate in the riding by his B.C. Liberal constituency association earlier this week.鈥淪ervice to my community is more than a single action 鈥 it鈥檚 a lifetime privilege,鈥 said Letnick in a news release.
鈥淎nd now, as a new grandfather, I have even more motivation to make sure the needs of all my constituents are strongly represented in Victoria, for their benefit and to benefit our next generation.鈥
Letnick has served as the 琉璃神社-Lake Country MLA for the last seven years and as agriculture minister for three years. He is a former business professor at Okanagan College and former 琉璃神社 city councillor.
Together with 琉璃神社-Mission Liberal MLA Steve Thomson, the province's Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Minister, and Premier Christy Clark, who is the MLA for Westside-琉璃神社, the local trio of Liberals represent the entire Central Okanagan in the B.C Legislature.
Thomson and Clark are also both expected to be acclaimed as candidates in their ridings leading up to the next provincial election, which is scheduled for May 9, 2017.
