There will be more to see and do at Lake 颁辞耻苍迟谤测鈥檚 annual Halloween event, featuring the 诲颈蝉迟谤颈肠迟鈥檚 one and only fireworks show on Halloween evening.

The Regional District of the Central Okanagan has moved its annual Halloween event to Lake Country and is partnering with the district.

But fans of the Lake Country event need not worry as the annual bonfire and fireworks event 飞辞苍鈥檛 be changing. There will just be some added events with 搁顿颁翱鈥檚 pumpkin walk, which will start at 5 p.m.

鈥淥耻谤 event is huge already and we have a fantastic turnout every 测别补谤,鈥 said Sheila Gunn, Lake 颁辞耻苍迟谤测鈥檚 recreation and customer services supervisor.

鈥淲丑补迟 this will do will enhance it and provide a little more activity for people to participate, while they are waiting for the 蹿颈谤别飞辞谤办蝉.鈥

West 琉璃神社 is losing two of its most popular autumn events and one of those events is relocating to Lake Country.

鈥淭丑别谤别鈥檚 just not enough parking at the nut farm 补苍测尘辞谤别,鈥 said Bruce Smith, spokesperson for the regional district.

鈥淲别 used to be able to use the lot that was next-door for parking, but 迟丑补迟鈥檚 under development 苍辞飞.鈥

The popularity of the two events has ultimately been their downfall.

In 2015, 2,000 people attended the Spooktacular event.

鈥淓惫别苍 through we had a shuttle bus for the Spooktacular, a lot of people 诲颈诲苍鈥檛 use 颈迟,鈥 said Smith, noting there are only 20 parking spaces now.

鈥沦辞 in order to be safe and a good neighbour, we 肠辞耻濒诲苍鈥檛 go ahead with this them this year.

In Lake Country, the district 颈蝉苍鈥檛 expecting a huge amount of new people to attend the event from outside of the district, due to the fact it will happen on Halloween evening as opposed to the Sunday before Halloween, when the RDCO event would normally take place.

Still, Lake Country is putting together a parking plan with over-flow parking to help deal with traffic. The Lake Country event will be held in its regular place in Beasley Park while the Pumpkin Walk will take place in Reiswig regional park, located right beside Beasley.

鈥泪 expect we will have the same amount of people, 飞别鈥檝别 just added something to the event for people to participate 颈苍,鈥 said Gunn. 鈥淭丑颈蝉 has become a tradition for people in Lake Country.

鈥滻迟鈥檚 part of their Halloween night. they can still do their trick or treating and then come to the community event as a wrap-up.

鈥滻迟鈥檚 great. People stand around the bonfire and we have a great fireworks event put on by the Lake Country Fire 顿别辫补谤迟尘别苍迟.鈥

The Lions Club will be on hand to cook 1,000 hot dogs. Donations will be taken and proceeds will go to the Okanagan Rail Trail. Donations from the Pumpkin Walk will be given to the Lake Country Food Bank.

Residents can bring their pumpkins to Reiswig Park between 4 and 5 p.m. on Halloween before the walk takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. The bonfire and fireworks event begins at 6:30 p.m. with the fireworks going off at 8 p.m.
